The Ottawa Senators
signed Swiss Olympian Roman Wick
to a one-year, two-way contract on Tuesday.
Wick spent the last four seasons playing with Kloten of the Swiss 'A' Division. The 24-year-old forward had 15 goals and 31 points in 37 in games 2009-10, and has finished each of the past three seasons among the top four players on his team in scoring. His best season was 2008-09, when he had 24 goals and 41 points in 45 games.
Wick also had 2 goals and 5 points in five games at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He failed to score in the shootout against Martin Brodeur
in Switzerland's loss to Canada in the preliminary round.
The Senators drafted Wick in the fifth round of the 2004 Entry Draft. He spent the next two seasons in the Western Hockey League before returning home to play with Kloten.
