The Ottawa Senators on Tuesday extended their affiliation agreement with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League for an additional four seasons through 2018-19 and announced a secondary affiliation agreement with the Evansville IceMen of the ECHL.
"We've been very pleased with the development of our young players who have progressed through Binghamton over the last number of seasons," Ottawa general manager Bryan Murray said in a statement. "Having a strong affiliate that gives our players the opportunity to learn how to be a professional and the chance to compete to win each and every night is a tremendous asset to future of our organization. We're very pleased to know they will be our affiliate for five more seasons."
The IceMen will serve as Ottawa's ECHL affiliate, replacing the Elmira Jackals. This will be Evansville's fifth season as a franchise and third in the ECHL after two years playing in the Central Hockey League.
