They didn't just release the Kraken, they raised it.
The flag of the Seattle Kraken flew from the famous Space Needle on Sunday, the city's most iconic landmark.
On hand for the raising of the flag, which was in team colors and adorned with the team's outstanding new logo, were Ted Leiweke, CEO of NHL Seattle and Mayor Jenny Durkan.
"It captures not just the Kraken, it captures Seattle," Durkan said of the team's logo in a short video clip shared by the Kraken on Twitter. "Flying it over the city today, it's amazing."
Needless to say the city is ready to embrace the Kraken.
