Donato nets 2 goals in a 4-3 win over Ducks

ANAHEIM --Jordan Eberle scored off the rush with 1:42 left in the third period to give the Seattle Kraken a 4-3 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Friday.

Ryan Donato scored two goals, Yanni Gourde had two assists, and Chris Driedger made 24 saves for the Kraken (16-28-4), who had lost three of four.
"It's a big road win," Eberle said. "I think we can get back to the way we were playing before the break (5-4-0)."
Isac Lundestrom scored two goals, and John Gibson made 23 saves for the Ducks (23-17-9) in their first game since Jan. 31 and first at home since Jan. 21. Anaheim was 4-0-2 in its previous six.
"As much as you're crossing your fingers and you practiced hard, that's a long time to be off," Anaheim coach Dallas Eakins said. "[The Kraken] had the luxury of a game underneath their belt [Wednesday]. I liked our effort, but we don't like the result."
On the winning goal, Eberle took the puck away from Ryan Getzlaf in the Kraken zone and the Ducks were slow to get back, allowing Eberle to score off the 3-on-2. It was his first goal in 23 games.
"We had a bit of a brain cramp on the last goal, a couple of them, and it cost us the game," Eakins said.

SEA@ANA: Eberle grabs the lead with a sweet one-timer

The Kraken held the Ducks to one shot on goal over the final 13:23.
Each team scored on its first shot on goal.
Donato gave the Kraken a 1-0 lead at 2:00 of the first period with a one-timer from the right circle that hit the net on the short side for his first goal in 10 games.
"I always pray that they come, but they come in bunches," Donato said. "Some guys are streaky and they go a couple games without a goal, but then they put two or three in and they're right back in it."
Lundestrom tied it 1-1 12 seconds later after receiving a stretch pass from Cam Fowler. He cut through the slot and dropped the puck for Jakob Silfverberg, who passed it back to Lundestrom.
Vince Dunn gave Seattle a 2-1 lead at 14:41 on a one-timer from the left circle off a cross-ice pass from Gourde.
Lundestrom tied it 2-2 at 5:34 of the second period when he redirected a centering pass from Derek Grant.

The Ducks moved ahead 3-2 at 8:34 when Rickard Rakell scored for a third straight game, a deflection off a slap shot from Jamie Drysdale on the first power play of the game.
"There were parts of the game that we didn't handle their pressure and speed as well as we needed to," Kraken coach Dave Hakstol said. "But in saying that, we were able to grind through it and push back at the right times, make plays at the right times and come up with big plays."
Donato scored his second goal to tie it 3-3 at 13:35. Ducks forward Trevor Zegras tried to pass up the wall in the Anaheim zone, but the puck hit the referee. Donato took possession in the slot and scored with a wrist shot.
"They were opportunistic and capitalized on their chances," Fowler said. "A couple bad breaks here and there and it's in the back of your net, but I think we left some out there too. I think we're definitely searching to find our game right now."
