Screaming Eagles rebound from lopsided loss with rout of Junior
NHL.com @NHLdotcomThe Cape Breton Screaming Eagles came back from their most lopsided loss of the season with a rout of their own.
Robert Slaney and Nicolas Chouinard each had a goal and two assists as the Screaming Eagles hammered the Montreal Junior 7-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Wednesday.
The win followed the playoff-bound Screaming Eagles' most humiliating loss of the campaign. Cape Breton was trounced 10-2 by the league-leading Drummondville Voltigeurs last Friday.
In other QMJHL action, Moncton beat Lewiston 3-1 and Rimouski edged Baie-Comeau 5-4 in overtime.
At Sydney, N.S., Logan Shaw scored twice for Cape Breton (40-16-1-1), while Michael Stinziani, Nick MacNeil and Maximilien Le Sieur also had goals. Chris Culligan added three assists.
Matt Fillier scored the lone goal for Montreal (28-26-1-2), which actually led 1-0 before the deluge of Cape Breton's goals commenced.
Olivier Roy made 17 saves for Cape Breton, while Jake Allen and Jean-Francois Berube combined for 27 saves for Montreal.

At Lewiston, Maine, Tomy Joly and David Savard each had a goal and an assist as Moncton beat the Maineiacs.
Scott Brannon also scored for Moncton (42-10-2-4).
Danick Paquette replied for Lewiston (19-38-1-1).

At Rimouski, Que., Jordan Caron scored in overtime as the Oceanic beat Baie-Comeau.
Olivier Fortier, with two goals, Philippe Cornet and Sebastien Piche scored in regulation for Rimouski (36-22-1-0).
Stephane Michaud, with two, Guillaume Goulet and Emrik Guillemette replied for Baie-Comeau (17-32-6-2).
