PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Shootout goals from Derek Schoenmakers and Jordan Mayer gave the Mississauga St. Michaels Majors a 4-3 win over the Peterborough Petes in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

Peter Ceresnak scored the first goal in his first OHL game after returning from New York Rangers camp, tallying at 1:49 of the second period for the Petes.

Mayer tied it up exactly four minutes later.

The Majors had the best of the third period with a 19-11 shots advantage but Petes took a pair of leads.

Matt Puempel scored 54 seconds in and that lead held up for almost 10 minutes until Dylan DeMelo scored a power-play marker.

Nick Ritchie gave the Petes a one-goal edge again but Riley Brace's goal with 16 seconds to play sent it to a scoreless overtime session.

Puempel and Lino Martschini were unable to beat Majors goalie JP Anderson in the shootout. Mike Morrison made 33 saves in his Petes debut.

The Petes went 3-for-6 on the power play for the second straight game.
