Schneider, Boychuk post two points each as Portland beats Seattle 6-1 @NHLdotcom

PORTLAND, Ore. - Stefan Schneider and Riley Boychuk each had a goal and an assist to lead the Portland Winter Hawks over the Seattle Thunderbirds 6-1 in Western Hockey League play on Saturday night.

The Winter Hawks (2-1-0), playing their home opener, got goals from six different players during the game, including five unanswered in the 3rd period.

Chris Francis started the scoring in the second period, Colin Reddin scored to break the tie and then got goals from Luke Walker, Jacob Berglund, Stefan Schneider and Riley Boychuk.

Prab Rai replied for Seattle (1-4-0).

Thunderbirds goalie Jacob De Serres made 29 saves, while Kurtis Mucha stopped 17 shots for the win.
