Schmidt completes Prince Albert comeback as Tri-City falls flat @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Tyler Schmidt finished off the Prince Albert Raiders' comeback in a powerful way.

Schmidt's power-play goal with 4:29 remaining in the third period gave the Raiders the lead and they held on to defeat the Tri-City Americans 3-2 in Western Hockey League action Friday night. The loss was Tri-City's first of the season. Their offence fizzled after they jumped out to a 2-0 lead by 8:30 of the first period.

Drew Hoff and Jordan Messier added goals for Prince Albert (3-3-0-0), while the Americans (3-1-0-0) got markers from Ryan McDonald and James Dobrowolski.

Chet Pickard picked up the win for the Raiders, stopping 22 shots. Tri-City netminder Steven Stanford made 27 saves.
