Schenn scores two goals as Wheat Kings win 5-2 over Broncos in WHL playoffs @NHLdotcom

REGINA - Brayden Schenn scored two unassisted goals to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 5-2 victory over the Swift Current Broncos in the Western Hockey League playoffs on Saturday night.

Schenn also had two assists, setting up Alexander Urbom's winning goal in the third period as the Wheat Kings took a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarter-final, with a chance to wrap up the series Wednesday night in Regina.

Aaron Lewadniuk and Matt Calvert, with an empty-netter, also scored for the Wheat Kings.

Brad Hoban and Justin Dowling replied for the Broncos, who are playing their home games at the Brandt Centre in Regina because the Credit Union i-plex in Swift Current, Sask., is hosting the world women's curling championship.

Brandon netminder Jacob DeSerres made 35 saves, while Morgan Clark stopped 28 shots for Swift Current.
