Schenn and Glennie propel the Wheat Kings to victory over Red Deer @NHLdotcom

BRANDON, Man. - Linemates Brayden Schenn and Scott Glennie scored late in the first period and early in the second as the Brandon Wheat Kings beat the Red Deer Rebels 3-1 in the Western Hockey League on Friday night.

Schenn's goal came with 36 seconds left in the first period, while Glennie followed that up 49 seconds into the second. Cale Jefferies added an empty-net goal for the Wheat Kings (3-2-0-0).

Landon Ferraro opened the scoring in the first period for the Rebels (3-3-0-1).

Brandon netminder Andrew Hayes made 23 saves, while Darcy Kuemper stopped 38 shots for Red Deer.
