SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Mark Scheifele made his return to the Colts lineup in a big way on Saturday night, scoring the overtime winner in a 5-4 Barrie win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in Ontario Hockey League action.
Scheifele, a prospect with the Winnipeg Jets, finished the night with three goals and an assist just 24 hours after missing the Colts game in Sudbury with what coach Dale Hawerchuck called a "stomach bug".
Anthony Camara, who played on a line with Scheifele and Steven Beyers, added a goal and two assists in the win.
Andreas Athanasiou had the other goal for the Colts (12-3-1), which tied the game in the latter stages of the third period. Defenceman Aaron Ekblad had a pair of assists for Barrie.
Goaltender Alex Fotinos stopped 24 shots for the Colts before being pulled after the Greyhounds fourth goal. Mathias Niederberger stopped all four shots he faced in the final 16 minutes of action.
Nick Cousins had a goal and two assists for the Greyhounds (9-7-1), while linemate Sergey Tolchinsky added a goal and an assist. David Broll and Mitchell Dempsey also scored for Sault Ste. Marie.
Matt Murray stopped 31 shots for the Greyhounds.
