PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Lane Scheidl and Jordan Weal each scored twice as the Regina Pats beat the Prince Albert Raiders 4-1 in Western Hockey League action Saturday.
The Pats (8-4-0) improved their road record to 6-2-0 with the win.
Brandon Herrod scored the only goal for Prince Albert (4-8-2), which fell to 2-4-0 on home ice.
Scheidl opened the scoring at 9:52 of the second period, then quickly made it 2-0 for Regina with a short-handed goal at 12:55.
Weal scored his fifth of the season on a one-timer just 19 seconds later, all but silencing the hometown crowd.
Weal added to the home side's misery in the third period, scoring his sixth of the year off a one-timer from point-blank range.
Herrod broke Matt Hewitt's shutout bid on a 5-on-3 power play in the third, following up after Justin Maylan's shot rebounded off the post to deposit into the gaping cage.
Eric Williams allowed four goals on 26 shots for the Raiders.
Hewitt conceded one goal in 27 shots for Regina.
The Pats had no success on the power play, going 0-for-5. Prince Albert finished 1-for-7 with the extra man.
The Raiders travel to Regina on Sunday evening to complete the home-and-home series.
