Sawyer Mick scores first two WHL goals as Portland surprises Seattle 5-1 @NHL

SEATTLE - Sawyer Mick scored his first two Western Hockey League goals as the Portland Winter Hawks scored five goals in one game for only the second time this season, downing the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-1 on Saturday night.

The Winter Hawks are the WHL's lowest-scoring team this season, with 73 goals in 34 games. The only other time Portland reached five goals was on Nov. 9, when they defeated the Kamloops Blazers 7-5.

Jonathan Milhouse, Colin Reddin and Luke Walker also scored for the Winter Hawks (9-24-1-0).

Jonathan Parker opened the scoring for Seattle (14-18-1-2).

Kurtis Mucha made 27 saves for Portland, while Thunderbirds netminder Jacob De Serres stopped 23 shots.
