Sault Ste. Marie rallies to 3-2 win over Plymouth; take 1-0 series lead @NHLdotcom

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds scored twice in the third period to rally to a 3-2 win over the Plymouth Whalers in Game 1 of their Ontario Hockey League Western Conference quarter-final series Friday night.

Daniel Catenacci, the first overall pick in the 2009 OHL draft, tallied the winner at 17:12 of the final period. Jordan Nolan had tied the game for Sault Ste. Marie midway through the third.

Dominic DeSando opened the scoring for the Greyhounds in the first period. Robin Lehner made 30 saves for the win between the pipes.

Phil McRae and Tyler Seguin scored early in the third period for Plymouth, while Matt Hackett finished with 41 saves.

Game 2 is Saturday night in Plymouth before the series heads to Sault Ste. Marie next Tuesday and Wednesday.
