Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds build 3-0 lead, hold on for 4-2 win over Storm

GUELPH, Ont. - Ryan MacLean scored the eventual game-winner for Sault Ste. Marie as the Greyhounds hung on to beat the Guelph Storm 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League play Friday.

Jake Carrick opened the scoring in the first for the Greyhounds (12-11-2). Jordan Nolan and MacLean scored early in the second to give Sault Ste. Marie a 3-0 lead.

Mathew Sisca got one back for Guelph (11-11-1) at 7:48 of the second and Corey Syvret added another on the power play at the 10-minute mark to pull it to 3-2.

But the Greyhounds' Brett Thompson put the game out reach at 17:46 of the third with a goal that made it 4-2.

Robin Lehner made 22 saves to pick of the win, while Matt Hoyle stopped 32 shots in defeat.
