Saturday's OHL Roundup @NHLdotcom

Captain AJ Jenks and Phil McRae were instrumental Saturday as the Plymouth Whalers continue to roll. Jenks' goal and two assists led the Whalers to a convincing 6-1 win over the London Knights in Ontario Hockey League play.

McRae had a goal and an assist in his first game against his former team. He was traded from London on Jan. 10, in exchange for Tyler J. Brown, 3rd and 4th round picks in 2010, and 5th and 8th round picks in 2012. Plymouth won its seventh straight game, and has gone 8-2-0 in its last ten. They are in second place in the OHL's West Division behind the Windsor Spitfires.

Plymouth hasn't lost since Jan. 15, when the Barrie Colts doubled them 4-2.

Elsewhere in the OHL it was Erie 6 Kingston 1; Peterborough 3 Ottawa 1; Sault Ste. Marie 6 Belleville 0; Saginaw 4 Sarnia 2; Barrie 5 Kitchener 2 and Owen Sound 3 Guelph 2 (OT).

At Plymouth, Mich., Tyler Seguin and Robbie Czarnik both recorded a goal and an assist for Plymouth (31-20-1), while Garrett Meurs and Joe Gaynor added singles.

Captain Justin Taylor scored for London (35-13-2).


Otters 6 Frontenacs 1

At Erie, Pa., linemates Mike Cazzola, Greg McKegg and Zack Torquato dominated as the Otters knocked Kingston.

McKegg scored twice and added an assist for Erie (23-21-7), while Cazzola and Torquato both had a goal and two assists. Jeremy Gottzmann and Anthony Luciani also tallied.

Joe Pleckaitis was the lone scorer for the Frontenacs (22-24-4).


Petes 3 67's 1

At Peterborough, Ont., Brett Theberge's power-play goal in the first period stood as the winner as the Petes downed Ottawa.

Matt Puempel opened scoring for Peterborough (24-25-3), while Justin Larson had the insurance empty-netter.

Corey Cowick replied for the 67's (25-18-7).


Greyhounds 6 Bulls 0

At Belleville, Ont., Robin Lehner made 23 saves as Sault Ste. Marie blanked the Bulls.

Brett Thompson scored twice for the Greyhounds (25-20-5), while Vern Cooper had a goal and two assists. Jordan Nolan, Brandon Archibald and Carson Dubchak had singles.

Anthony Peters stopped 21 shots for Belleville (16-28-7).


Spirit 4 Sting 2

At Saginaw, Mich., the Spirit rallied to erase a 2-0 deficit and double Sarnia.

Ryan O'Connor, Cody Sol, Josh Shalla and Jordan Skellett scored for Saginaw (23-21-5).

Nathan Chiarlitti and Brett Ritchie provided the offence for the Sting (14-34-3).


Colts 5 Rangers 2

At Barrie, Ont., Dalton Prout had the winner as the Colts scored five unanswered goals in a win over Kitchener.

Matt Kennedy, Luke Pither, Alex Pietrangelo and Alex Hutchings had the other goals for Barrie (41-7-1).

Jeremy Morin scored both goals for the Rangers (32-15-4).


Attack 3 Storm 2 (OT)

At Owen Sound, Ont., Joey Hishon had two goals, including the overtime winner, as the Attack edged Guelph.

Marcus Carroll had the other goal for Owen Sound (23-23-6).

Peter Holland and Taylor Beck replied for the Storm (21-24-4).
