The Windsor Spitfires weren't distracted by an emotional send-off in Erie.
Justin Shugg had a hat trick and added an assist as Windsor flew past the Erie Otters 5-2 in Ontario Hockey League play Saturday night. Shugg scored in each period, with the final tally coming in the last minute of play on an empty net. Erie's roster joined forward Michael Liambas on the ice for a farewell address to the fans before the game. He returns home Sunday to complete a season-long suspension for his hit on the Kitchener Rangers' Ben Fanelli Oct. 30.
The Spitfires won their fifth straight game and snapped the Otters' season-high four-game winning streak. The Otters lost for the first time since Liambas' suspension.
Goaltender Jaroslav Janus lost for the first time in four starts since returning from the American Hockey League's Norfolk Admirals.

Zack Torquato had a goal and an assist for Erie (9-10-3), while Greg McKegg also scored. Torquato's two-point night gives him 202 for his career.

At Belleville, Ont., Luke Judson scored twice and Andy Bathgate had a four-point game as the Bulls defeated Niagara.
Bathgate finished with a goal and three assists, while Adam Payerl and Matthew Tipoff also scored for Belleville (8-13-3).
Andrew Agozzino and Chris DeSousa replied for the IceDogs (8-12-3).

At Plymouth, Mich., Myles McCauley's natural hat trick led the Whalers over Kitchener.
