Santini scores a hat trick to lead the Battalion over the Sting 6-1

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Brampton Battalion picked up their sixth straight victory after defeating the Sarnia Sting 6-1 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Michael Santini led Brampton (20-10-4) with three goals while Jordan Auld, Zach Bell and Barclay Goodrow added singles. Jamie Lewis chipped in with two assists.

Charles Sarault scored the lone goal for Sarnia (19-11-5), who have now dropped two in a row.

Matej Machovsky made 19 saves for the win as Brandon Hope stopped 39 shots in defeat.

The Battalion failed to score on three power-play opportunities while the Sting went 1-for-12.

Sarnia was without Nail Yakupov who left the team on Saturday to join team Russia for the World Junior Championships.

Brampton heads into the break as top team in the Central Division.
