Mackenzie Blackwood

Mackenzie Blackwood was traded to the San Jose Sharks by the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.

The Devils received a sixth-round pick (No. 164) in the 2023 Upper Deck NHL Draft, which begins with the first round at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday (7 p.m. ET; ESPN, SN, TVAS). Rounds 2-7 are Thursday (11 a.m. ET; NHLN, SN, TVAS).

Blackwood, who can become a restricted free agent on July 1, was 10-6-2 with a 3.20 goals-against average and .893 save percentage in 22 regular-season games (20 starts) for the Devils this season. The 26-year-old did not appear in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Selected by New Jersey in the second round (No. 42) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Blackwood is 65-57-18 with a 2.97 GAA, .906 save percentage and eight shutouts in 152 regular-season games (143 starts).
