Sam Carrick's first career OHL hat trick lifts Brampton past Niagara 6-3 @NHLdotcom

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Sam Carrick had his first career three-goal game in the OHL to lead the Brampton Battalion to a 6-3 win over the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday night.

Carrick's first of the season on a power-play at 3:30 of the third period evened the score 3-3. Thomas Stajan scored the go-ahead goal at 5:07, and Carrick's second of the game at 7:47, also with the man advantage, made it 5-3.

Carrick completed the scoring at 14:30.

Stajan finished with a pair of goals while Cameron Wind added a single for the Battalion (2-3-1). Patrick Killeen stopped 29 shots to earn the win.

Freddie Hamilton, Dylan MacEachern and Chris DeSousa replied for the IceDogs (2-4-2). Mark Visentin made 35 saves in defeat.
