Sam Carrick lifts Brampton Battalion to 4-3 shootout win over Sarnia Sting @NHLdotcom

SARNIA, Ont. - Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Sam Carrick scored twice in regulation and again in a shootout as the Brampton Battalion edged the Sarnia Sting 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night.

Dylan Blujus also scored for the Battalion (2-2-0).

Reid Boucher, Ludvig Rensfeldt and Craig Hottot had goals for the Sting (1-1-1), while Nail Yakupov and Charlie Sarault each had two assists.

After a scoreless first period, Sarnia took the early lead in the second, only to give Carrick his first goal of the game, just nine seconds later.

Carrick's second of the game made it 2-1 after two periods.

The Sting struggled on the power play going 1-for-10, while the Battalion missed on five opportunities.

Brampton goaltender Keegan Wilson made 33 saves for the win, while the Sting's Brandon Hope stopped 25 shots.
