Saginaw evens series with 3-1 win over Kitchener; Skellett has eventual winner @NHLdotcom

SAGINAW, Mich. - The Saginaw Spirit broke open a scoreless tie with two goals in the second period and beat the Kitchener Rangers 3-1 in Ontario Hockey League post-season play Saturday night.

Jordan Skellett had the eventual winner for Saginaw, while Barry Sanderson and Anthony Camara also tallied.

Michael Catenacci scored the lone goal for Kitchener.

Edward Pasquale stopped 24 shots for the Spirit and Brandon Maxwell turned aside 28 shots for the Rangers.

Kitchener lost the game on special teams, going 0 for 8 on the power play. Saginaw scored once with the man advantage in six tries.

The win evens up the best of seven quarter-final series at a game apiece. Game 3 will be in Kitchener Monday night.
