Ilya Lyubushkin
signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract with the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $2.75 million.

The 28-year-old defenseman had 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) in 77 games and one assist in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Toronto Maple Leafs last season.
"He plays a hard game, he's a bigger game, he's solid, he can kill penalties," Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams said. "He can kind of play with any type of player. We just felt that with the [defensemen] that we have and the young [defensemen] that we have and the skill that we have, he'd be a good fit."
Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Arizona Coyotes on May 23, 2018, Lyubushkin has 25 points (three goals, 22 assists) in 211 regular-season games for the Maple Leafs and Coyotes.
