Craig Anderson and Aaron Dell each signed a one-year, $750,000 contract with the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.

Anderson was 2-1-0 with a 2.13 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in four games (two starts) with the Washington Capitals last season, his 18th in the NHL. The 40-year-old was 1-1 with a 2.67 GAA and .929 save percentage in two Stanley Cup Playoff games (one start).
Capitals general manager Brian McLellan said July 24 he expected Anderson to retire.
Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round (No. 73) of the 2001 NHL Draft, Anderson is 291-252-67 with two ties with a 2.84 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and 42 shutouts in 652 regular-season games (614 starts) with the Capitals, Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers and Blackhawks. He is 24-23 with a 2.36 goals-against average, .929 save percentage and four shutouts in 48 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Dell was 1-5-0 with a 4.14 GAA and an .857 save percentage in seven games with the New Jersey Devils last season. The 32-year-old is 49-39-12 with a 2.83 GAA and .906 save percentage in 114 NHL games with the Devils and San Jose Sharks.
The Sabres lost goalies Linus Ullmark (Boston Bruins) and Carter Hutton (Arizona Coyotes) each as a free agent Wednesday.
Buffalo also acquired defenseman Will Butcher and a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft from the Devils in a trade for future considerations.
The 26-year-old scored 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) in 23 games for the Devils this season. Selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the fifth round (No. 123) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Butcher has scored 106 points (14 goals, 92 assists) in 238 regular-season games with New Jersey and four points (one goal, three assists) in five playoff games.
