Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced Tuesday the signing of forward Jacob Lagace to an entry-level contract. The Sabres selected Lagace in the seventh round, No. 209, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

He represented Chicoutimi in the QMJHL All-Star Game and was selected as a member of Team QMJHL in the 2009 Subway Super Series against Russia. Lagace also was a member of the gold medal-winning Canadian team at the 2008 IIHF Under-18 World Championships.

Lagace, 20, also appeared in one playoff game for the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League last season after he signed an amateur try-out agreement with the club.

A native of Beloeil, Quebec, Lagace finished his junior career with 204 points (90 goals, 114 assists) in 191 games.
