Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart turned 21 on Sunday and his teammates made sure to celebrate the occasion by giving him a towel full of shaving cream in the face.
While Reinhart chatted with Matt Moulson at the end of practice Sunday, Marcus Foligno snuck up and smashed Reinhart's face and practice jersey with a towel filled with foam.
"I was kind of wrestling with [Moulson] in the corner, so I didn't see it coming," Reinhart said. "That's Marcus for you."
Reinhart was the seventh Sabres player to celebrate a birthday in the past month, but Foligno made sure to wait until after a Buffalo win to pull off the prank. The Sabres are 4-1-0 in their past five games, including a 2-1 victory against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
"We've had a couple of birthdays back to back in the last month, and I don't know why we haven't done it," Foligno said. "Since we won last night, it would've been a good time to do it."
