Murray headlines noteworthy performances by Sabres prospects

Brett Murray showed off his scoring touch last week, posting three goals in a pair of games for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL. Murray, a fourth-round pick of the Sabres in 2016, scored twice on five shots Saturday (including the game-winner) in Youngstown's 4-3 win over Muskegon.

He's currently tied for the team lead with 13 points (5+8) in 14 games.
After two seasons at Penn State, Murray rejoined the Phantoms this fall. He's committed to Miami (Ohio) next season.
Meanwhile in the OHL, Ukko-Pekka Lukkonen (2017, second round) made 39 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss to London on Friday and came right back with a 33-save performance in Sudbury's 4-3 shootout win over Sarnia on Saturday.
He also stopped Blue Jackets first-round pick Liam Foudy on a penalty shot with less than a minute to play in overtime on Friday.

Matej Pekar (2018, fourth round) added six shots and an assist in each of his games to pad his stat totals. He now has 21 points (9+12) in 19 games for the Barrie Colts.
In the college ranks, Christopher Brown (2014, sixth round), notched his first goal of the season in a 4-1 win over Vermont.

Providence's Jacob Bryson (2017, fourth round) enjoyed a three-point weekend with a goal on Thursday and two assists on Saturday as Providence fell in both of their games to UMass. With three goals through nine games, he's already one marker shy of tying his career-high set last season.
