Victor Olofsson agreed to a two-year, $9.5 million contract with the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $4.75 million.

The forward, who turns 27 on Monday, could have been a restricted free agent. He had an NHL career-high 49 points and tied his NHL high with 20 goals in 72 games for the Sabres last season.
Selected by Buffalo in the seventh round (No. 181) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Olofsson has 127 points (55 goals, 72 assists) in 188 regular-season games.
