Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane hopes to return from a knee injury Thursday when the Sabres face the St. Louis Blues.
"I think you'll have a pretty good chance to see me in the lineup tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that," Kane said Wednesday.
Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said Kane has been making progress for several days and is skating well.
"He's really close. He's a possibility for tomorrow, yes," Bylsma said.
Kane sprained the MCL in his left knee in a collision with New Jersey Devils defenseman David Schlemko in an Oct. 24 game. He will wear a brace on the knee when he returns.
"I feel better. I think as a team we're in a better position than obviously we were when I got hurt," Kane said. "I'm looking forward to coming in especially against the teams that we're playing the next couple games; St. Louis twice, Dallas again, and Nashville. It's going to be a good test for myself, obviously coming off injury, and then a good test for our team and I'm looking forward to helping contribute to, hopefully, some wins."
In eight games this season, Kane has one goal and two assists.
