BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller has taken the first step in returning from an upper body injury by taking part in a light half-hour workout after practice.
Miller worked strictly on positioning and lateral movement drills without facing a shot Monday. It was his first time back on the ice since taking a shot high off the chest in a 4-3 loss at Toronto on March 29.
Miller says he felt good and regards himself as day to day after missing three games. The starter adds there's a good chance he could return by Buffalo's regular-season finale at Columbus on Saturday.
The seventh-place Sabres have three games left in attempting to secure a playoff berth. Coach Lindy Ruff says Jhonas Enroth will start against Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
