Eichel suspended two games for an illegal head check

NEW YORK - Buffalo Sabres forward Jack Eichel has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Colorado Avalanche forward Carl Soderberg during NHL Game No. 1048 in Denver on Saturday, March 9, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 14:48 of the second period. Eichel was assessed a minor penalty for illegal check to the head.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Eichel will forfeit $107,526.88. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
