BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo Sabres defenceman Rasmus Ristolainen will miss up to the first 10 days of training camp because of an upper body injury.

The Sabres made the announcement Friday, after the team took the ice for the first day of camp. The Sabres did not reveal the nature of the injury or when Ristolainen was hurt.

Ristolainen is Buffalo's 2013 first-round draft pick, and coming off his first full NHL season. He led Sabres defencemen with eight goals, 12 assists and 20 points in 78 games last year.

The Sabres also announced that forward Cody McCormick is out indefinitely after he failed his physical. McCormick, a 10-year NHL veteran, has not played since a blood clot was discovered in his left leg in January.
