Rychel scores in shootout, Cullen makes 39 saves to lead Spitfires over Generals @NHLdotcom

WINDSOR, Ont. - Kerby Rychel scored the shootout winner and John Cullen made 39 saves as the Windsor Spitfires downed the Oshawa Generals 5-4 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.

Alexander Khokhlachev, a second round draft pick of the Boston Bruins in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, scored twice and added two assists to lead Windsor offensively. Nick Czinder and Zack MacQueen had the other goals for the Spitfires (5-3-0) who moved into first place in the OHL's West Division with their third straight victory.

Christian Thomas led the Generals (2-4-1) with two goals with Josh Graves and Cole Cassels, with the first of his OHL career, adding singles.

Graves and Thomas, with his second of the game, scored their goals just 12 seconds apart on short-handed efforts early in the second period.

Spitfire defencemen Saverio Posa and Adrian Robertson both chipped in with a pair of assets.

Kevin Bailie made 21 saves for the Generals, who lost their third straight game.
