Ryan Stoa scores shootout winner Monsters edge Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 @NHLdotcom

CLEVELAND - Ryan Stoa scored the winner in a shootout as the Lake Erie Monsters edged the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 on Friday in the American Hockey League.

Andreas Engqvist gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead with 3:45 left to play in the first period, with Louis Leblanc and Brian Willsie assisting on the power play goal.

But with 1:11 left to play in the first, Dean Strong scored his third of the season following a face-off to Hamilton netminder Nathan Lawson?s left to tie the game.

Netminder Cedrick Desjardins stopped 29 of 30 shots in the Bulldogs (25-26-6) loss.

Lawson stopped 23 of 24 for Lake Erie (28-25-5).
