PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Ryan O'Connor scored twice to lead the Barrie Colts to a 5-3 win over the Peterborough Petes in an Ontario Hockey League game that featured two penalty shots Tuesday night.

Erik Bradford, Mark Scheifele and Brendan Bell with an empty-netter also scored for Barrie (13-4-1).

Brett Findlay, Alan Quine and Zach Lorentz replied for Peterborough (4-11-3).

O'Connor tied the game at 3-3 with a short-handed goal 55 seconds into the third period. Then he gave Barrie its first lead of the game with a power-play goal at 10:24 when he ripped a one timer to the short side from the faceoff circle.

Findlay had opened the scoring with a wrist shot to the top shelf but Bradford banged the puck home from a scramble in front to tie it up for the Colts after the first period.

The Petes took a 3-1 lead when Quine connected on the power play before Lorentz found the back of the net. But Scheifele's power-play goal made it 3-2 after the second period.

Petes goaltender Andrew D'Agostini foiled Anthony Camara on a penalty shot in the second after the Colts forward was hooked on a breakaway.

Mathias Niederberger returned the favour on another penalty shot, stoning Gregory Betzold who had been tripped as he broke in on the Colts' goalie.
