WINDSOR, Ont. - Ryan Ellis scored twice including the power-play winner in overtime as the Windsor Spitfires came from behind to beat the London Knights 4-3 Wednesday and take a 1-0 lead in their OHL Western Conference final series.

After a scoreless first period, the Knights' Nazem Kadri opened the scoring on a short-handed effort after being sent in on a breakaway and depositing a backhander behind Windsor netminder Andre Engelage.

Scott Timmins replied for the Spitfires on the same power play when he rifled a slapshot from the right face-off dot past Trevor Cann of the Knights.

Justin Taylor and John Carlson also scored for the visitors to put London up 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Ellis and Andrei Loktionov both scored on a two-man advantage for the Spitfires to tie the game at 3-3 midway through the third period and set the stage for Ellis' heroics.

Cann made 30 saves in taking the loss while Engelage made 31 stops at the other end.

Game two of the series is Friday night in London, Ont.
