STL@NSH: Ellis wins footrace to score empty-net goal

Ryan Ellis scored his first goal of the season and he went topical for the celebration.

The Nashville Predators defenseman took a pretend monkey off his back and kicked it after scoring his first goal, an empty-netter that sealed their
3-1 win against the St. Louis Blues
.
"It kind of put the game away," Ellis told Fox Sports Tennessee after the game. "It feels good to get it, but we got the two points."
The goal was Ellis' first in 22 games this season, and he hadn't scored in 38 regular-season and Stanley Cup Playoff games dating back to March 29. He stuffed a backhand shot into the net then let out a big smile as he celebrated with his teammates.
