Russia defeats QMJHL all-stars in Game 1 of ADT Challenge @NHLdotcom

CHICOUTIMI, Que. - Russia scored three unanswered goals in the third period to down the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League all-stars 6-4 Monday in the opening game of the ADT Challenge.

Nikolay Okhlobystin, Maxim Mamin and Mikail Milekhin scored in the third after Brad Marchand of the Val-d'Or Foreurs had given the QMJHL a 4-3 lead 36 seconds into the period.

Milekhin ended up with two goals and an assist for Russia. Dmitry Sayustov and Marat Fakhrutdinov also scored.

Andrew Bodnarchuk of the Halifax Mooseheads led the QMJHL with a goal and two assists. Mathieu Perreault of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Ryan Hillier of the Mooseheads also scored.

Nicola Riopel of the Moncton Wildcats started the game, but was pulled half way through the second period after giving up three goals on 12 shots. Raffaele D'Orso of Val'd-Or allowed three goals on 19 shots in relief.

Stanislav Galimov made 24 saves for Russia.

The Russians take on the QMJHL all-stars in Gatineau, Que., on Wednesday before playing two games against the Ontario Hockey League all-stars followed by two games against the best of the Western Hockey League.
