Rowat makes 38 saves, backstops Hurricanes to 2-1 win over Broncos @NHLdotcom

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Linden Rowat stopped 38 shots in backstopping the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 2-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.

Rowat improved to 6-3-3 on the season after the overage goaltender turned aside 38 of the 39 shots he faced. Lethbridge held a 12-9 edge in shots after the first period, but were outshot by a 30-14 margin in the final 40 minutes of play.

Cam Braes' second period power-play goal stood up as the game winner for Lethbridge, with the 18-year-old collecting his 13th goal of the season. Mark Reners also scored for the Hurricanes.

Cody Eakin replied with his 31st goal of the season for the Broncos.

Broncos netminder Morgan Clark yielded two goals on 24 shots while falling to 14-10-1.

Lethbridge remains 11th in the Eastern Conference standings after improving to 15-23-5, while Swift Current remains ninth in the conference at 23-20-2.
