Rotter scores winner as Storm win 5-3 to put Knights on brink of elimination

LONDON, Ont. - Rafael Rotter's power-play goal at 13:57 of the third period was the winner as the Guelph Storm took a commanding lead over the London Knights with a 5-3 win in OHL playoff action on Tuesday night.

The Storm lead the best-of-seven Western Conference quarter-final 3-0 and can wrap up the series when they host Game 4 on Thursday night.

Denis Hollenstein, Matt Kennedy, Derek Brochu and Brandon Buck - into an empty net with 25 seconds remaining - also scored for Guelph who led 2-1 and 3-2 at the intermissions.

Phil Varone, Jadran Beljo and Daniel Erlich replied for London.

Storm goalie Thomas McCollum blocked 36 shots, while Jhase Sniderman and Jason Guy - who came in relief at the start of the second period - combined for 28 saves for London.
