Rookie goaltender Owsley posts first shutout as Americans blank Tigers @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Drew Owsley posted his first career shutout and added an assist to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 3-0 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers in Western Hockey League action Sunday night.

Taylor Procyshen led the Americans (23-8-0-2) with two goals and an assist.

Procyshen's first goal, the 90th of his WHL career, opened the scoring at 5:50 of the first period. Brett Plouffe gave the Americans a 2-0 lead at 9:10 of the second, and Procyshen finished the scoring with an empty-net goal in the third period.

Owsley, filling in for starter Chet Pickard who is at Canada's world junior championship selection camp, finished with 29 saves and is 5-1-0-0 this season.

Tyler Bunz made 17 saves for Medicine Hat (20-10-3-3).
