Romano's three points cap Peterborough's 6-1 rout of the Whalers

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Tony Romano scored twice and added an assist as the Peterborough Petes scored four first-period goals en route to a 6-1 victory over the Plymouth Whalers in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.

David Quesnele, Yves Bastien, Ryan Spooner and Sergey Korostin added goals for Peterborough (13-15-0-1), which led 6-0 at the midway point of the second period.

Patrick Lee scored late in the second for the Whalers (9-13-3-0).

Jason Missiaen made 38 saves for the Petes, while Plymouth netminder Jeremy Smith stopped 24 shots.
