PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Tony Romano's sixth game-winning goal of the season lifted the Peterborough Petes past the Sudbury Wolves 3-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night.
Brett Theberge also scored in the third period to rally the Petes (22-31-0-2) from a 2-1 deficit. Ryan Spooner had the other goal for Peterborough, which moved to within two points of Sudbury for the Eastern Conference's eighth and final playoff spot. Sergey Korostin had two assists.
John MacFarland and Daniel Maggio had second period goals for the Wolves (21-26-2-4), who suffered their fourth straight loss.
Ryan Daniels made 26 saves to pick up the win in goal and Andrew Loverock took the loss, stopping 38 shots.
