Sportsnet 1 will televise "Rogers Hometown Hockey" at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, prior to the game between the Buffalo Sabres and Edmonton Oilers. The location this week is Newmarket, Ontario, and the show will celebrate the history of hockey in the city.
Among the features airing on the pregame show:

* Oilers captain Connor McDavid, who grew up in Newmarket, begins his second season in the NHL. McDavid's parents, Brian and Kelly, discuss how their son prepared both on and off the ice for this moment.

He wasn't selected in the Ontario Hockey League draft and was the second-to-last player (No. 291) taken in the 2003 NHL Draft. Brian and his dad, Bill, reflect on his journey to the NHL.
* A look at the art of trampolining with two-time Olympic gold medalist Rosie MacLennan
