Robertson, Emond capture weekly CHL honours @NHLdotcom

TEMPE, Ariz. - New Mexico Scorpions forward Chris Robertson was named the Central Hockey League's player of the week Monday after registering four goals and two assists.

Robertson, of Owen Sound, Ont., had three goals as the Scorpions beat New Mexico 6-4 on Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak. On Sunday, Robertson scored the winning goal in a 3-1 victory over the Southern Conference-leading Odessa Jackalopes.

So far this season, Robertson has 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) in 28 games.

Marco Emond of the Arizona Sundogs was named the league's goalie of the week after registering consecutive wins over the expansion Rapid City Rush.

Emond, of Valleyfield, Que., stopped 29 shots in a 3-0 win to earn his first shutout of the season Friday night. On Saturday, he turned aside 33 shots to anchor a 2-1 victory.

So far this season, Emond has a 9-9-1 record and 3.66 goals-against average.
