The Hanlon family celebrated with all the other St. Louis Blues fans when the team won the Stanley Cup, but one day after the parade the family of 11, with a 12th on the way, lost everything in a house fire.

On Wednesday, Blues forward Robert Thomas stopped by with a surprise gift of new hockey sticks for each of the nine children, a net, and balls. He also signed autographs.

"I can't even imagine what they went through with the fire," Thomas told stlouisblues.com. "To be able to help out in the little way that I can, bring them some happiness, it really makes you feel good inside."

The community has come together to help the family get back on their feet, but the visit from Thomas provided some unexpected excitement.

"This is incredible," Colleen Hanlon said. "For somebody who is famous and does this stuff to want to come here and hang out with our kids… it means so much. It makes the kids so happy. This is a dream come true and this is their wildest dream."
