Rintoul scores winner as Kootenay defeats the Hurricanes 4-1

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Hayden Rintoul broke a 1-1 tie 12:04 into the third period as the Kootenay Ice scored four goals in the final 17 minutes to push past the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-1 in WHL action Saturday night.

Ian Barteaux scored twice, Andrew Bailey finished with a goal and two assists, and Brayden McNabb added two helpers for Kootenay (35-29-2-6).

Zach Boychuk had the lone marker for the Hurricanes (35-31-3-2).

Nathan Lieuwen made five saves in the first period for the Ice before being replaced by Todd Mathews, who stopped 12 of 13 shots for the win. Juha Metsola started in net for Lethbridge, stopping 11 shots before Michael Tadjdeh took over. Tadjdeh allowed four goals on 24 shots to take the loss.
