Rimmer 36 saves as the Hurricanes edge the Hitmen

CALGARY - Ty Rimmer made 36 saves to backstop the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 2-1 win over the host Calgary Hitmen in Western Hockey League action on Friday.

Brady Ramsay scored in the first period for the Hurricanes (18-16-5), while Sam Mckechnie scored the game-winning goal in the second.

Brooks Macek scored the lone goal of the game for the Hitmen (23-9-4) during a power play at 15:59 of the third period.

The Hitmen continued to pour on the pressure after Macek?s goal, but couldn?t find a way to get any more pucks past Rimmer, who was chosen as the game's first star.

Calgary's Chris Driedger made 23 saves in a losing cause.

The Hurricanes failed to score on four chances with the man advantage while the Hitmen went 1 for 6 on the power play.
