Riku Helenius stops 25 shots as Thunderbirds blank Chiefs 2-0 @NHLdotcom

SEATTLE - Riku Helenius stopped all 25 shots he faced to help the Seattle Thunderbirds beat the Spokane Chiefs 2-0 Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

It was Helenius' third shutout of the season. Seattle beat Spokane for the first time this season improving to 1-5-0-1 against the Chiefs. Greg Scott opened the scored his 25th goal of the season at 3:11 of the first period. The Thunderbirds made it 2-0 at 6:56 of the third period on Jim O'Brien's 14th goal of the season.

The loss was the second in a row for Spokane, 39-12-1-4, the top-ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League coming into Sunday's action. The win was the fourth in a row for Seattle, 29-18-5-2.

Spokane goaltender Dustin Tokarski, who has three shutouts this season against Seattle, fell to 23-7-0-2 on the season.
