Hockey Canada has announced a pair of press conferences for Thursday in Montreal and Toronto, during which it will be announced the cities will serve as hosts for the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2015 and 2017, according to multiple media outlets.

Montreal and Toronto will serve as host cities each year, with Montreal home to the preliminary round and Toronto site of the medal round in 2015, and the reverse in 2017.

Canada last was site of the tournament in 2012, when games were played in Edmonton and Calgary. The 2015 and 2017 tournaments will mark the first time Montreal has served as host since 1978; Toronto never has.

The 2014 WJC will be held in Malmo, Sweden, from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, 2014. The United States is the defending champion, having defeated Sweden 3-1 in the 2013 gold-medal game in Ufa, Russia.
